Equity market extends yesterdays positive momentum.
The Nigerian bourse today closed higher gaining 0.46% to extended yesterdays positive momentum. The uptrend was driven by the Banking sector. Market breadth closed positive, recording 21 gainers and 10 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) was up by 141.68 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.46%, closing at 30,878.56 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization grew by N52.83 billion representing an increase of 0.46%, closing at N11.51 trillion.
FIRSTALUM emerged the top gainer while RESORTSAL emerged the top loser.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FCMB (+4.35%), GUARANTY (+2.80%), WAPIC (+2.50%), TRANSCORP (+2.40%), FBNH (+1.37%), ETERNA (+1.15%), STANBIC (+1.06%) ZENITHBANK (+0.92%), ACCESS (+0.89%) and DIAMOND (+0.48%).

The Naira at the inter-bank rate remain unchanged to close at N306.85 against yesterday’s closing price.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.44, traded high at N364.00 and eventually closed at N362.58, representing a 0.04% depreciation against yesterday’s closing price. A total of $334.34 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 15.67%, representing a 3.42% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 15.00% representing a 2.50% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position.
