The Equity Market closed higher today, gaining 0.88% to extend uptrend to three consecutive trading days.  Market breadth closed at par, recording 17 gainers and 17 losers.

In summary, the All Share Index (ASI) was up by 288.74 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.88%, closing at 33,196.07 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization increased by N105.41 billion, representing a growth of 0.88%, closing at N12.12 trillion.

CHIPLC emerged the top gainer while UNITYBNK emerged the top loser.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; GUARANTY (+4.05%), TRANSCORP (+3.97%), HONYFLOUR (+3.45%), FO (+2.86%), ZENITHBANK (+1.88%), WEMABANK (+1.69%), UBA (+1.25%), DANGCEM (+0.71%) and FCMB (+0.65%).

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N363.85, traded high at N365.00 and eventually closed at N363.58, representing a 0.07% appreciation against Friday’s closing price. A total of $118.19 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

 

MONEY MARKET

Overnight (O/N) rate closed at 15.50%, representing a 3.71% appreciation against Friday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate  closed  at 14.83% representing a 4.50% appreciation against Friday’s closing position.
