Equity market complete stellar week on a high note
The equity market performance index (NSE-ASI) today rose by 1.38% to cap of a stellar performance this week which recorded gains throughout. Today’s performance was majorly driven by gains in industrial and consumer goods sector. Market breadth closed negative, recording 21 gainers and 22 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) went up by 421.96 absolute points, representing an increase of 1.38%, closing at 31,005.17 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization increased by N157.35 billion representing a growth of 1.38%, closing at N11.56 trillion.
REGALINS emerged the top gainer while BERGER emerged the top loser.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CCNN (+9.13%), NESTLE (+3.49%), NB (+2.86%), DANGCEM (+2.58%), WEMABANK (+1.64%), DANGFLOUR (+1.55%), OANDO (+1.14%) and ETERNA (+1.14%).

The Naira at the inter-bank rate remain unchanged to close at N306.85 against Thursday’s closing price.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.69, traded high at N365.00 and eventually closed at N362.79, representing a 0.02% depreciation against yesterday’s closing price. A total of $583.01 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 16.17%, representing a 2.67% appreciation against Thursday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 15.33% representing a 2.33% appreciation against Thursday’s closing position.
