Transactions on the Nigerian Bourse closed for today (Wednesday) on a bullish note, advancing the gaining streak to four consecutive trading sessions. The positive performance was impacted by investors’ bargain hunting sentiments across all the major sectors, led by Insurance (+0.61%) and Banking sectors (+0.54%). Hence, the (ASI and Market Capitalization) grew by +0.22%. Furthermore, the market breadth closed positively, recording 22 gainers as against 13 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 83.27 absolute points, representing a gain of 0.22% to close at 38,501.31 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value gained N43.41 billion, representing an increase of 0.22% to close at N20.07 trillion.

CUTIX emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +10.00 while BOCGAS emerged as a  top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -9.94%.

The overnight (O/N) rate closed at 10.50%, appreciating by 0.25% against Tuesday’s position. while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 10.00%, appreciating by 0.25% against Tuesday’s position.

 

FOREIGN EXCHANGE 07072021

The I&E FX window opened at N411.79, traded high at N420.86, traded low at N396.00, and eventually closed at N411.45, unchanged against Tuesday’s closing position. However, at the BDC, the naira remains unchanged at N500.00.

Nigeria’s foreign reserve weakened by $26.04 million to $33.12 billion on (06/07/2021) from $33.14 billion on (05/07/2021), representing a 0.08% decline.

 

CRUDE OIL 07072021

The Brent crude declined by $1.1 to $73.43 on (07/07/2021) from $74.53 (06/07/2021), representing a 1.48% decrease in price. While Bonny Light remained unchanged at $74.16.
