Sentiment turned positive in the equity market today, on the back of earnings declaration by Zenith, Transcorp and Nigerian Breweries. As such, the market capitalization climbed by 0.67% – translating to N80.60 billion in monetary terms. Market breadth also closed positive, recording 16 gainers and 14 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) gained 216.11 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.67%, to close at 32,406.18 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization grew by N80.60 billion representing an increase of 0.67%, to close at N12.08 trillion.
JAPAULOIL & SOVREINS emerged the top gainers while FIRSTALUM emerged as the top loser.

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N361.88, traded high at N363.30 and eventually closed at N362.20, representing a 0.04% depreciation against yesterday’s closing price. A total of $75.84 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 15.83%, representing a 10.25% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 15.00% representing a 8.33% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position.
