Domestic Market Maintains Positive Posture, as NGX-ASI Rallies by 0.12%

Activities on the Local Bourse today (Wednesday) closed on a positive note, extending the gaining streak to five consecutive trading sessions. The positive outcome was buoyed by investors’ buy-interests in banking and industrial sectors, as NGX-ASI increased by 0.12%. However, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 20 losers as against 19 gainers

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 48.54 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.12%, to close at 40,765.20 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value increased by N25.3 billion, representing a gain of 0.12% to close at N21.24 trillion.

FBNH emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) with a price appreciation of +7.78%, while PHARMDEKO emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) for today, with a price depreciation of -6.01%.

The FGN Bond market closed on a relatively quiet note with a weak sentiment, as market participants continued to cherry-pick attractive yields. Interest was observed across the board as market participants take positions following the release of the Q4 FGN Bond Issuance by the DMO. Furthermore, trades were executed along the short to the mid-end of the yield curve.
