Activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday extends bearish sentiment as the performance indicator (All-Share Index) declined by 0.42%. The declined was impacted by Dangcem, Zenithbank and 15 other stocks. Consequently, Market breath closed negative, recording 11 gainers and 17 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
The All Share Index (ASI) decreased by 115.27 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.42% to close at 27,412.13 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization lost N56.17 billion, representing a dip of 0.42% and closed at N13.36 trillion.
AIICO emerged the top gainer while REDSTAREX emerged as top loser
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; JAPAULOIL (-9.09%), MAYBAKER (-5.83%), WEMABANK (-5.17%), UBN (-2.17%), FLOURMILL (-1.92%), DAMGCEM (-1.79%), ZENITHBANK (-1.39%), and FBNH (-0.96%).

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.63, traded high at N364.00 and eventually closed at N362.83 representing a 0.02% appreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $169.75 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 9.79%, representing a 4.57% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 9.00%, representing a 4.36% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD market halt its previous two days negative sentiment, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) grew further by 1.40% to close at 721.51 points against yesterday’s index. Similarly, the Market Capitalization gained N7.13 billion to close at N518.36 billion. Also, market activities measured by aggregate volume and value grew by 700.58% and 2,638.19% respectively. Investors traded a total of 562,573 units of shares valued at N77.44 million in 7 deals.
