Dangote, 20 others drag local bourse lower, shed 0.43%
Transactions on the Nigerian equity market today (Friday) sustains yesterday’s negative sentiment, receding further by 0.43%, following profit taking on bellwether stocks like DANGCEM, DANGSUGAR, ACCESS and 18 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 21 losers as against 13 gains.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 106.66 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.43% to close at 24,826.75 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N55.64 million, representing a decrease of 0.43% to close at N12.95 trillion.
UPL emerged as the top gainers while CUTIX emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGCEM (-6.47%), WAPIC (-2.94%), GUINNESS (-2.86%), DANGSUGAR (-1.38%) and ACCESS (-0.74%), .

The Naira at the official window on Friday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against previous day’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N386.67, traded high at N389.75 and eventually closed at N386.50, representing a 0.21% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $66.61 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 16.67%, representing a 12.97% appreciation against previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 15.17%, representing a 12.37% depreciation against previous day’s position.

The NASD OTC market on Friday closed unchanged as against yesterday’s closing position as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 704.76. Similarly, Market Capitalization closed at N517.69 billion, unchanged against yesterday’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 82.04% and 60.25% respectively, as investors traded a total of 9,120 shares, worth N2.19 million in 4 deal.
