The equity market closed lower today, shedding 0.52% to reverse yesterday’s gains. The dip was impacted by profit taking in major shares such as Dangote Cement Plc, United Bank of Africa Plc, and 26 others. Market breadth closed negative, recording 18 gainers against 28 losers.

The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CADBURY (-8.88%), FCMB (-7.00%), DIAMONDBNK (-6.40%), WAPIC (-4.76%), FO (-4.49%), DANGSUGAR (-4.19%), MAYBAKER (-4.08%), UBA (-4.06%), ETI (-3.87%), FLOURMILL (-0.55%), FBNH (-0.50%), DANGCEM (-0.43%), STANBIC (0.50%), UNILEVER (-0.29%) and GUARANTY (-0.25).
