Dangcem and 14 other stocks extend negative performance of NSE-ASI
Activities on the Nigeria Stock Exchange(NSE) continued its loosing streak after the Democracy Day celebration. The decline was impacted by negative sentiment of investors on Dangcem and 14 other stocks. Consequently, market breadth closed negative, recording 14 gainers and 15 losers.
NSE Trading Floor
The All Share Index (ASI) shed 70.68 absolute points, representing a decline of 0.23% to close at 30,029.15 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization lost N31.13 billion, representing a dip of 0.23% to close at N13.22 trillion.
GLAXOSMITH emerged the top gainer while CILEASING emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGSUGAR (-2.73%), ACCESS (-1.56%), DANGCEM (-1.08%), UBA (-0.81%), FLOURMILL (-0.36%), and ZENITHBANK (-0.25%)

The Naira exchange rate at the official window remain unchanged to closed at N307.00/$1, against Tuesday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N360.23, traded high at N361.50 and eventually closed at N360.67 representing 0.01% depreciation against Tuesday’s closing position. A total of $281.43 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 5.71%, representing a 3.79% depreciation against Tuesday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 5.43%, representing a 3.29% depreciation against Tuesday’s closing position.

The NASD market closed negative after today’s trading sessions, as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) declined by 0.70% to close at 754.61 points against Tuesday’s index. The Market Capitalization dipped N3.83 billion closing at N542.14 billion. Similarly, Market activities measured by aggregate volume and value declined by 91.91% and 85.51% respectively. Investors traded a total of 148,382 units of shares valued at N43.56 million in 14 deals.
