Bull rules the Nigerian equities market for a fourth consecutive day
The Nigerian equities market today (Wednesday) closed on a positive note, extending the gaining streak to four consecutive trading days with a 0.62% gain, following value appreciation on bellwether stocks. Consequently, the market breadth closed positively, recording 14 gainers as against 12 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 140.53 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.62% to close at 22,868.40 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size increased by N73.24 billion, representing a growth of 0.62% to close at N11.92 trillion.
COURTVILLE emerged as the top gainer while ETERNA emerged as the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FBNH (+3.37%), WAPCO (+2.38%), MTNN (+2.38%), UBA (+1.69%), ACCESS (+1.60%) and GUARANTY (+0.48%).

The Naira at the official window on Wednesday closed unchanged at 361.00/$1, against yestersday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N386.04, traded high at N389.90 and eventually closed at N370.00, unchanged against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $11.34 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 3.40%, representing a 8.68% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.70%, representing a 8.13% depreciation against yesterday’s position.

The NASD OTC market on Wednesday closed unchanged as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 694.88, against previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization unchanged at N510.44 billion, against the previous day’s position. However, the aggregate volume and value increased by 594.05% and 1,589.83%, as investors traded a total of 172,124 volumes of shares, valued at N48.82 million in 5 deal.
