Bull extend rule as market closed the week with 0.73% gain
The Nigeria equity market today extend positive sentiment to three consecutive trading sessions, as NSE-ASI nudged up by 0.73%. The rally was supported by price appreciation in Banking, Consumer Goods, Industrial, and Oil/Gas sector. As such, market breadth closed positive, recording 28 gainers against 7 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) gained 212.85 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.73% to close at 29,560.47 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization increased by N79.95 billion representing a growth of 0.73% to close at N11.10 trillion.
MEYER emerged the top gainers while IKEJAHOTEL emerged as the top losers.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGFLOUR (+5.00%), MOBIL (+4.04%), ACCESS (+3.48%), HONYFLOUR (+3.48%), UNILEVER (+2.94%), TRANSCORP (+2.59%), ETERNA (+2.50%), GUARANTY (+2.34%), DANGCEM (+1.61%), WEMABANK (+1.43%), DANGSUGAR (+1.11%), OANDO (+1.03%), and NESTLE (+0.41%).

The Naira at the inter-bank rate remained unchanged to close at N307.00 against yesterday’s closing position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N360.27, traded high at N362.00 and eventually closed at N360.32, representing 0.05% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $204.80 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 21.57%, representing an 11.00% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 20.29%, representing an 10.57% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position.
