BUA, Italian firm sign pact on pasta plant
BUA Group on Friday signed an agreement with FAVA of Italy for the supply and installation of a pasta processing plant with a total capacity of 720 tonnes per day across five lines.
A statement by the company said the deal would boost the company’s capacity and make BUA the second largest pasta producer in Nigeria.
The statement titled ‘BUA Group, FAVA of Italy sign agreement for supply and installation of a 720tonnes/day pasta processing plant in Nigeria’ said the plant would be completed in 2021.
Speaking during the signing, Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Rabiu, said, “We are excited to work with FAVA for the supply and installation of our newest 720tonnes/day pasta processing plant in Port Harcourt, Nigeria to complement the existing five lines of the same capacity we have in the same location.”
He said the company’s continuous investments across the agriculture and foods processing value chain would be crucial in helping to enhance food security in Nigeria and the region.
