Bellwether Stocks Extend Market Downtrend To Five Consecutive Trading Days

Activities on the Nigerian Bourse today (Friday) closed on a negative sentiment to extend the losing streak to five consecutive trading days as the All-Share Index (ASI) further dips by 0.71%. The downturn was buoyed by losses in the Banking, and Oil & Gas sectors. Furthermore, the market breadth closed negatively, recording 20 losers as against 14 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) shed 279.55 absolute points, representing a decrease of 0.71%, to close at 38,921.78 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value lost N146 billion, representing a dip of 0.71% to close at N20.28 trillion.

VERITASKAP emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a price appreciation of +9.52% while LINKASSURE emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a price depreciation of -6.56%.
