The Nigerian bourse on Monday began the trading week in the south, shedding 0.26% following price decline on Banking stocks and other market bellwethers. However, the market breadth closed positively, recording 14 gainers against 13 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 75.85 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.26% to close at 29,552.99 points, Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N39.07 billion, representing a decline of 0.26% to close at N15.22 trillion.
NAHCO emerged as the top gainer while UNILEVER emerged as top loser.
The downtrend was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; UNILEVER (-9.97%), FBNH (-4.11%), ACCESS (-2.44%), UBA (-2.34%), ZENITHBANK (-2.28%), FLOURMILL (-0.88%) and DANGSUGAR (-0.72%).

The Naira at the official window on Monday closed unchanged at 306.95/$1, against Friday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.33, traded high at N363.50 and eventually closed at N362.94, representing a 0.05% depreciation as against Friday’s closing position. A total of $83.77 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 10.50%, representing 6.17% appreciation against Friday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 9.40%, representing 5.73% appreciation against Friday’s position.

The NASD OTC market on Monday closed negative as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) close at 705.42, representing a 0.16% decline against Friday’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization closed at N506.80 billion, representing a 0.16% dip as against Friday’s position. Consequently, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 67.03% and 49.49% respectively, as investors traded a total of 154,625 volume of shares valued at N3.31 million in 13 deals.
