Banking and two other sectors halts NSE-ASI eight days losing streak
The Nigerian bourse on Thursday closed positively to halt eight trading sessions of profit-tank, following buy sentiment in the banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors. Consequently, the market breadth closed positively, recording 20 gainers against 15 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 46.65 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.17% to close at 28,140.41 points, However, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N26.41 billion, representing a growth of 0.18% to close at N14.50 trillion.
It is pertinent to note that the variation in the percentage gained in NSE-ASI and Market Capitalization was due to the listing of additional 2.26 billion ordianary shares of 50 kobo each by Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc, offered by way of placement.
LAWUNION emerged as the top gainers while SKYAVN emerged as top losers.
The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FBNH (+4.35%) ACCESS (+4.28%), ETI (+4.23%), ZENITHBANK (+4.17%), UBA (+3.33%), GUARANTY (+3.09%), HONYFLOUR (+2.00%), OANDO (+0.56%), and VITAFORM (+0.19%)

The Naira at the official window on Thursday closed unchanged at 306.95/$1, against yesterday’s position.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N363.90, traded high at N365.35 and eventually closed at N364.17, representing a 0.10% appreciation as against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $175.71 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 7.50%, representing a 7.83% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 6.17%, representing 8.17% depreciation against yesterday’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market on Thursday remain unchanged as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 697.86. Similarly, Market Capitalization closed unchanged at N501.73 billion, against yesterday’s position. However, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 96.78% and 96.77% respectively, as investors traded a total of 110,980 volume of shares, valued at N30.88 million in 7 deals.
