Banking and Industrial Goods Sector Send Local Bourse to Dip Marginally by 0.04%

Trading activities on the Local Bourse today ( Monday) closed on a negative note, to halt the four days of bullish sentiment, as NGX-ASI dipped marginally by 0.04%. The downturn was buoyed  by price depreciation in banking and industrial goods sector. However, the market breadth closed positively, recording 25 gainers as against 15 losers

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) declined by 16.94 absolute points, representing a drop of 0.04%, to close at 39,505.40 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization value lost  8.82 billion, representing a decrease of 0.04% to close at N20.58 trillion.

SFSREIT emerged as the top gainer (by percentage points) for today, with a maximum price appreciation of +9.96%, while ABCTRANS emerged as the top loser (by percentage points) with a maximum price depreciation of -8.33%.

Today’s market negative performance was driven by price depreciation in large and medium capitalized stocks which are; LASACO (-6.67%), LIVESTOCK (-4.81%), FIDELITYBK (-4.80%), CHAMPION (-4.55%), CAP (-3.47%), ETI (-1.75%), WAPCO (-1.35%), STERLNBANK (-1.31%), MANSARD (-1.10%), TRANSCORP (-1.05%), UBA (-0.66%), ZENITHBANK (-0.61%), and  CADBURY (-0.56%).
