ACCESS, NESTLE & 15 others drags equity market lower, shed 1.27%
Activities on the Nigerian bourse today (Monday) closed on a negative note, further receding by 1.27%, extending the negative sentiment to three consecutive trading days. The downturn was buoyed by persistent sell pressure on some blue-chip stocks like ACCESS, NESTLE, BUACEMENT and 14 other. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a negatively, recording 17 losers as against 14 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 310.07 absolute points, representing a dip of 1.27% to close at 24,026.05 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N161.75 billion, representing a contraction of 1.27% to close at N12.53 trillion.
CORNERST & NAHCO emerged as the top gainers while BETAGLAS emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; NESTLE (-6.51%), BUACEMENT (-5.00%), ACCESS (-2.36%), and OANDO (-0.44%).
