The Nigerian equity market today (Thursday) slipped, shedding 0.16%, reversing yesterday’s positive sentiment, following bargain hunting on bellwether stocks like ACCESS, NB and 7 others. However, the market breadth closed on a negative note, recording 10 losers as against 9 gains.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 39.41 absolute points, representing a dip of 0.16% to close at 24,933.41 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N20.56 million, representing a decrease of 0.16% to close at N13.01 trillion.
CILEASING emerged as the top gainers while FIDSON emerged as the top loser.
The downturn was impacted by losses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FIDSON (-9.71%), NB (-9.52%) and ACCESS (-0.73%), .

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N386.63, traded high at N389.75 and eventually closed at N385.70, representing a 0.08% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $66.61 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 3.70%, representing a 5.22% depreciation against previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.80%, representing a 5.37% depreciation against previous day’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET
The NASD OTC market on Thursday closed positively, reversing yesterday’s negative sentiment as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) was up by 0.70% closed at 704.76. Similarly, Market Capitalization gained N3.57 billion to close at N517.69 billion, representing a 0.70% appreciation against yesterday’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 7.66% and 9.24% respectively, as investors traded a total of 50,786 shares, worth N5.50 million in 9 deal.
