ACCESS, GUARANTY & 18 others led equity to halt downtrend, gains 0.15%


The Nigerian equity market today (Friday) ended the trading week on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.15%, to halt the previous negative sentiment of three consecutive trading days. The upturn was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like DANGSUGAR, FBNH, ETI, and 17 others. Consequently, the market breadth closed on a positive note, recording 20 gainers as against 6 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 39.22 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.15% to close at 25,572.57 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size appreciated by  N20.50 billion, representing a growth of 0.15% to close at N13.36 trillion.

NEIMETH emerged as the top gainer while ABCTRANS emerged as the top loser.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; DANGSUGAR (+7.14%), ACCESS (+1.57%), GUARANTY (+1.40%), ETI (+1.27%) and FBNH (+1.02%).

 The NASD OTC market today (Friday) closed note as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 720.02, unchanged against the previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization closed at N528.90 billion, unchanged against the previous day’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value decreased by 96.14% and 84.16% respectively, as investors traded a total of 51,418 shares, worth N3.34 million in 1 deals.
