The equity market performance index (NSE-ASI) posted a marginal gain of 0.01% on the second trading day of the week. This upturn was driven by Banking sector and Oil/gas sector only. Market breadth closed positive, recording 26 gainers and 10 losers.

The All Share Index (ASI) was up by 4.16 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.01%, closing at 30,736.88 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization grew by N1.55 billion representing an increase of 0.01%, closing at N11.46 trillion.
LINKASSURE emerged the top gainer while MCNICHOLS emerged the top loser.
The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; OANDO (+6.82%), TRANSCORP (+2.46%), SEPLAT (+1.89%), WEMABANK (+1.64%), ZENITHBANK (+1.40%), GUARANTY (+1.26%), UACN (+1.14%) and DANGFLOUR (+0.76%).

The Naira at the inter-bank rate remain unchanged to close at N306.85 against Monday’s closing price.
The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N362.70, traded high at N365.00 and eventually closed at N362.42, representing a 0.01% appreciation against Monday’s closing price. A total of $375.36 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 19.08%, representing a 8.08% depreciation against Monday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at 17.50% representing a 7.83% appreciation against Monday’s closing position.
